Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How many colours can the Lodestar display?

A: Seven colours.

Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Light-Blue and White

Q: How do I control the Lodestar indicator colours?

A: Complete colour control can be achieved using just three security/access control system outputs.

The Lodestar features four control inputs. Three for colour control and one to activate the sounder.

Applying 12-24VDC will activate the associated input.

The three colour inputs control Red, Green and Blue LED’s. These colours can be combined to provide the other colours. For example, you could use just two outputs separately to activate the red and green LED’s, then turn both on to activate yellow.

Q: Is the Lodestar EMC compliant for use in commercial and industrial environments?

A: Yes, the Lodestar has passed independent testing for AS/NZS 61000.6.3 & 4.

There are two EMC standards applicable to the Lodestar. AS/NZ (RCM-EMC) 61000.6.3 Emission standard for residential, commercial and light-industrial environments and AS/NZ (RCM-EMC) 61000.6.4 Emission standard for industrial environments.

For reference, facilities such as airports and power generation sites are considered industrial environments.

Independent testing has been completed successfully for both standards.

Q: Can I adjust the Lodestar volume?

A: Yes, the Lodestar sounder features adjustable volume.

A small internal dial alows the Lodestar volume to be adjusted to suit the local environment.

Q: Can I use the Lodestar sounder without the LED indicator?

A: Yes. The Lodestar sounder has its own control circuit.

The sounder can be linked to LED control inputs or used separately.

Q: Can the Lodestar flash?

A: Yes. The Lodestar can be set to either flash or stay on solid.

An internal jumper setting enables pulse mode. This is set to ON by default. Remove this jumper to disable flashing.

This setting applies to both the light and sound.
